I am creating this blog to chronicle a deep desire I've had for a very long time to travel abroad and serve the poor, build lasting relationships, and to instill a giving spirit into my children's hearts. Who knows what else will happen along the way?

Designing this blog...
I have been spending some time clicking through all of the design tabs, so I hope some learning is taking place here! I think I may ask a few people to join so that I can get some feedback on what it looks like to the world. Going to post another picture for the practice. Todd, a friend of mine, and a great photographer, took this picture...

I'm excited to learn about your journey to Haiti! What an amazing experience it will be. I would LOVE to do something like that one day!!!
Along the way, should you happen to learn of any children with diabetes while you're there (or before you go) PLEASE let me know if there are any needs I can help fill!
Thanks Wendy! I am going to post more details as I go. Right now, we are waiting to hear about our background checks, and confirmation of our volunteer dates at God's Littlest Angels. We are hoping for the first 2 weeks in Jan. 2013. We are going to embark upon fundraising, which is funny because my crafty skills are at a "hair scrunchie" making level only!!!! Should be interesting to say the least :-)
